Periklindo hopes President Prabowo will provide electric motorcycle subsidies in the same form as last year.

KatadataOTO – The government has not yet disclosed clarity regarding the timing of providing electric motorcycle subsidies, for the people of Indonesia.
However, the Indonesian Electric Vehicle Industry Association (Periklindo) has a suggestion for President Prabowo Subianto if he wants to disburse the aid.
"We hope there will still be a subsidy in the same form as yesterday (2024), a direct Rp 7 million," said Moeldoko, Chairman of Periklindo, when opening PEVS 2025.
He also hopes the government will provide a subsidy for converted electric motorcycles like last year, in the form of a Rp 10 million discount per unit.
This is believed to be able to stimulate the public to switch to using electric two-wheeled vehicles.
However, Periklindo is also open if President Prabowo intends to present the electric motorcycle subsidy in another form.
"If the government considers there is a new, better policy, we will also accept it," Moeldoko continued.
According to the Periklindo Chairman, the most important thing now is for the government to provide clarity on when the aid will be given.
Considering the current uncertainty has many impacts. Especially in terms of electric two-wheeled vehicle sales.
"The subsidy is still a question mark, so now buyers are holding off, waiting for the government's policy," Moeldoko emphasized.
Therefore, he strongly urges President Prabowo to provide the electric motorcycle subsidy soon.
Especially since it is now approaching the fifth month of 2025. For almost half a year, there has been no clarity from the government.
"If there are no incentives, there is no enthusiasm. The business world also lacks enthusiasm," he concluded.
As a reminder, the Minister of Industry (Menperin) previously spoke out about the future of this government assistance.
“The electric motorcycle subsidy will be (finalized) soon, it is already being finished up,” said Agus Gumiwang, the Minister of Industry, on a separate occasion.
Agus admitted that the government is still calculating the amount of assistance to be given to the people in the country.
Therefore, they cannot yet confirm whether the form of the electric motorcycle subsidy in 2025 will be the same as last year or not.
"It is still being processed and calculated, but it will definitely happen. So the electric motorcycle subsidy will be out soon,” Agus concluded his statement.
