KatadataOTO – Polytron is set to launch a portable fast charger next year. This device allows customers to perform faster charging without having to go to public charging stations.

Its size is also quite compact, so it can be carried while riding without difficulty. Even people who want to travel long distances can store it easily.

“So we saw many people buying portable fast chargers on the aftermarket, even though their safety is not guaranteed. So we finally decided to develop the device,” said Ilman Fachrian, Head of Group Product EV 2W (12/12)

Unlike other portable fast chargers on the market, the product developed by Polytron is claimed to have undergone special development. This ensures the power delivered matches the battery's needs and does not damage components.

“With this device, charging a 3.75 kWh battery to full only takes 2 hours,” he added.

Although it has not been officially launched, the Portable Fast Charger will be sold separately from the motorcycle. Thus, customers who need it will have to dig deeper into their pockets.

“We see that not all consumers need it, so it is sold separately. Usually, this device is also only used by touring enthusiasts,” he then added.

Its presence is felt to be increasingly important after they launched the Polytron Fox 350. This is because the motorcycle has been designed to be more comfortable to use and is suitable even for long-distance travel.

This model is equipped with a 3.75 kWh capacity battery that can be used to travel 130 km. It takes about 4 hours to fully charge the battery.

That power is then channeled to a 3,000-watt electric motor that enables the motorcycle to reach speeds of up to 95 km/h.

Various safety features have been embedded, including Hill Start Assist. Thanks to this, the motorcycle can stop on an incline even if the rider does not apply the brakes.

“Hill Start Assist can keep the motorcycle from rolling back for about 2 minutes. This allows the rider to be more confident while riding,” added Ilman.

The price of the Polytron Fox 350 is around Rp 15.5 million if purchased without a battery or with a rental scheme of Rp 200 thousand per month.

Meanwhile, if consumers want to buy the motorcycle including the battery, the price increases to around Rp 22.5 million.
