KatadataOTO – The Central Java Provincial Government continues to encourage motor vehicle tax compliance in their region.
One way is by providing a stimulus, namely a motor vehicle tax amnesty that has been running for some time.
"I urge the public to pay their (vehicle) taxes immediately," said Ahmad Luthfi, Governor of Central Java, on the official Instagram @humas.jateng, Saturday (16/05).
Furthermore, Luthfi advised motorcycle and car owners to take advantage of this relief immediately.
So that the public will no longer have motor vehicle tax arrears in the future.
"Tax payment is the responsibility of the public, so in 2026, everyone must pay, no more arrears," stressed the Central Java Governor.
Luthfi also revealed that the motor vehicle tax amnesty in Central Java aims to ease the burden on the public.
Especially for car and motorcycle owners who have not fulfilled their obligations to the state for a long time.
"In the future, tax obligations must be fulfilled, they will be collected by the Regency/City. Even the village level will later participate in the collection process," said Lutfi.
For your information, the Central Java Provincial Government is providing relief in the form of an exemption or waiver of principal vehicle tax arrears and applicable fines.
The motor vehicle tax amnesty has been running since April 8. It will then end on June 30, 2025.
It targets taxpayers who have not paid their Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) in recent years.
"We will waive the principal PKB tax and its fines. However, there is a time limit,” said Luthfi.
For your information, this relief is in accordance with Central Java Governor Regulation (Pergub) Number 31 of 2024.
It explains the management of regional receivables. From the implementation of tax relaxation based on this governor's regulation, it is hoped to stimulate the collection of PKB receivables up to Rp 2.8 trillion in Central Java.
Therefore, he hopes that car and motorcycle owners in his region will immediately take advantage of the motor vehicle tax relief.
Furthermore, if people want to get this leniency, they can go directly to the nearest Samsat office.
Then pay the current year's tax or for 2025. Thus, the arrears and fines that have not been paid in the previous period will be automatically waived.
