KatadataOTO – A BMW sedan was involved in a fatal accident with a Honda Vario on Jalan Palagan, Ngaglik, Sleman on Saturday (24/05).
In this incident, a Faculty of Law student from UGM (Universitas Gadjah Mada) named Argo Ericko Achfandi was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the BMW driver was identified as Christiano Pengaraptena Pengidahen Tarigan, also a UGM student from the FEB Faculty of Economics and Business.
This incident has drawn public attention, even becoming a topic of conversation online.
The accident also reached the ears of Ahmad Sahroni, Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR RI. He even urged the police to thoroughly investigate this case.
He also emphasized that the DIY Regional Police should be professional, transparent, and impartial in handling the BMW accident case involving the UGM student.
“Especially with the circulating rumors that the perpetrator's parents allegedly have money and influence,” Sahroni said, as quoted by Antara on Tuesday (27/05).
Sahroni affirmed that he will continue to monitor the development of this case to ensure there is no intervention from any party.
According to Sahroni, the perpetrator who caused the death of Argo Ericko Achfandi must be held legally accountable for their actions.
“Who cares? Their child took someone's life, so they must face the criminal consequences,” Ahmad Sahroni asserted.
Sahroni also hopes that the police will handle this BMW accident seriously and not be swayed by external factors.
"Police, be careful, don't let this be deflated. Remember, the public is watching and judging," he added.
For your information, the police are currently conducting a series of investigations. They are gathering evidence regarding the suspected cause of the BMW accident in Sleman.

The statements from the perpetrator, witnesses, and evidence found at the scene will be compared to fully uncover the chronology of this accident.
