KatadataOTO – Geely claims it will be more aggressive in selling vehicles in Indonesia. One way is by opening more dealerships so that it is easier for the public to make transactions.

Without holding back, the Chinese manufacturer is confident it can open at least 40 dealerships by the end of 2025. This is a considerably high number, considering they currently only have 22 networks throughout Indonesia.

“There are now 22 dealerships, and the rest are still under construction. The locations are not just in Jakarta but also in several other major cities like Semarang, Makassar, and Kalimantan,” said Yusuf Anshori, Brand Director of Geely Indonesia (29/10).

With the addition of dealerships, it is hoped that Geely's sales in Indonesia can increase further. Moreover, from January to September 2025, their retail sales have already reached 1,487 units, securing the 18th position for most sales.

This figure is even better than MG, which is below it with sales to the public of 1,371 units. Geely has confirmed it will continue to launch several new products in the future.

“Our target is to have seven models in Indonesia within the next three years,” he then affirmed.

It was previously reported that Geely officially announced the price of their newest model, the Geely Starray EM-i. This car offers a variety of attractive advantages, such as an electric motor with 160 kW or 214 hp and 262 Nm of torque.

This performance is supported by a battery with a capacity of 18.4 kWh. The car is also equipped with fast charging, allowing the battery to be charged from 30 percent to 80 percent in just 20 minutes.

Not only that, its performance is further enhanced by a 1,500 cc gasoline engine capable of producing 73 kW or 97 hp and 125 Nm of torque.

This combination allows it to accelerate to 100 km/h in 8 seconds from a standstill. Meanwhile, the maximum speed it can reach is 170 km/h.

Despite its attractive performance, its fuel consumption is claimed to be optimal. Based on the NEDC, the vehicle can travel more than 1,000 km when the gasoline and battery are full.
