KatadataOTO – The Vietnamese manufacturer, VinFast, began its journey in Indonesia in 2024. In a short time, the brand has continued to expand massively to get closer to consumers.

One of its goals is to make VinFast's line of electric cars more accessible to the people of Indonesia.

VinFast first appeared at the Indonesia International Motor Show or IIMS 2024. A number of right-hand drive models were showcased for the first time to visitors.

The public responded positively to VinFast's vehicle lineup. This was marked by a flood of orders and purchases during the exhibition period.

At that time, VinFast had not yet provided test drive units for interested consumers to try directly. In fact, some of its models were still prototypes.

VinFast also won two awards at IIMS 2024, namely Best Booth Car and Favorite Southeast Asia Premiere Launch.

VinFast's achievements at IIMS 2024 strengthened its position as a competitive electric car manufacturer in the country.

As of March 2025, VinFast has shipped 2,500 right-hand drive electric car units from Vietnam to Indonesia.

During its journey in Indonesia, VinFast has introduced several models including the VF 3, VF 5, VF e34, and the VF Wild prototype at GJAW 2025.
