KatadataOTO – BYD has announced a new milestone. The company has produced a total of 15 million vehicles, including both EVs and PHEVs, across all its brands.

According to CarNewsChina, by the end of 2024, BYD had produced 10 million units, reaching 13 million units by mid-2025. This growth is considered quite rapid and indicates high market interest in the cars offered.

Of this total, the Dolphin is said to be one of the most produced models. As of now, 1 million units of the vehicle have been sold.

The Seagull (Atto 1) has also captured a large global market. The model has sold more than 1 million units.

The production of the 15 millionth vehicle is proof of BYD's position as one of the main global vehicle manufacturers.

Building a Factory in Indonesia

BYD's high production numbers are certain to increase in the future. Especially since they will be building new factories, including one in Indonesia.

The production facility is being built as part of the company's commitment to developing the electric vehicle market in the country. Construction has already begun and will be located in the Subang area, West Java.

Construction is claimed to be completed by early 2026 and will prioritize the production of the BYD Atto 1. This will be followed by several other models such as the Seal and Sealion 7 in the first quarter of that year.

The factory's production capacity is claimed to reach 150,000 units per year. This figure is considered quite high in preparation for the country's growing electrification market.

The output from this factory is expected to not only meet domestic demand but also global markets in the future.

This number is an increase of 27,635 units compared to the same period last year, which was 11,654 units. They have successfully secured the sixth position among the largest vehicle manufacturers in Indonesia.
