Alva does not recommend that electric motorcycle users remap the controller on their products.

KatadataOTO – Currently, the use of electric motorcycles in Indonesia is quite massive. There are even some modifications that can be done.
As KatadataOTO discovered, in a Facebook group called Alva Motorcycles Forum on Wednesday (19/11).
It offers remap services or reprogramming of the controller unit. This applies to the Alva N3 and Cervo electric motorcycles.
It is claimed to offer several advantages. For example, smoother and more powerful vehicle acceleration.
"Addition of cruise control feature, unlocking the speed limiter up to 150 kph, and more optimal regen adjustment," the post reads.
Alva has spoken out about this phenomenon. They do not recommend that electric motorcycle owners perform a remap.
"Frankly, the battery mapping and controller capability (of Alva) are already locked," said Cahya Agusta Harianto, VP of Engineering at Alva in SCBD, Jakarta.
Cahya explained that Alva's engineers have determined various things. From temperature to the riding modes in their products.
Therefore, Alva electric motorcycles are able to provide maximum performance when used by consumers.
"If it's forced to 160 km per hour, especially continuously, of course the battery (will be) stressed. So its lifetime will be greatly reduced," he continued.
Indeed, making modifications that do not comply with the specifications has the potential to damage the vehicle. Especially for the vehicle's powertrain sector.
Cahya further explained that all of their Electric Vehicles (EVs) are already made according to consumer needs.
So buyers don't actually need to make any changes. Especially modifications to the controller or battery.
"Tinkering within a reasonable context is still okay. But when it comes to safety itself, in our opinion, someone speeding at 160 km per hour on a motorcycle is dangerous," Cahya emphasized.
He also assured that Alva will continue to innovate. Including minimizing consumers from performing extreme modifications.
That way, users of electric two-wheeled vehicles can ride normally.
"We ourselves will also continue to evolve in terms of cybersecurity. It's not that we don't want people to modify," he concluded.
For your information, if you remap the controller, your electric motorcycle's warranty may be voided.
If that happens, it will certainly be detrimental. Considering you would have to spend a considerable amount of money if your vehicle is damaged.
Additionally, Alva can detect which of its consumers' electric motorcycles have been modified. So, remapping the controller is strongly not recommended.
