The Changan Lumin is a compact electric car with a distinctive appearance that appeals to Indonesian consumers.
Fortunately, the vehicle's handling is quite easy and simple. Making this journey feel enjoyable.
Marketed as an electric car, the Changan Lumin's performance is not particularly special. Similar to its competitors in the same class, power is not its strong suit.
The accelerator pedal itself does not jolt, even when pressed suddenly. There is a delay before the vehicle reacts.
For your information, the Changan Lumin is claimed to only produce a peak power of 46 hp.
Two driving modes are available: Eco and Sport. The difference between each mode is not very significant.
In total, we drove the Changan Lumin for about 60 kilometers over nearly 10 hours.
As a small electric car, the Changan Lumin will be enjoyable for short-distance travel.
The vehicle's range reaches 301 km NEDC (New European Driving Cycle), which will require owners to recharge more frequently.
Although during our test session, there was still plenty of battery power left at the end of the trip.
As for charging, the Changan Lumin can already use the DC Fast Charging feature.
Recharging the battery from 30 percent to 80 percent is believed to take only 35 minutes.
For novice drivers, the Changan Lumin does not have an auto hold feature. So, when on an incline, the driver must use the parking brake, which is still a long lever.
Although for stop-and-go situations there is a Hill Hold Control (HHC) feature that holds the car for 3 seconds, it will feel safer to use the parking brake.
The driving pleasure is enhanced by the 10.25-inch head unit. However, it takes more effort to synchronize the vehicle with a smartphone.
