KatadataOTO – Wuling Motors entered the Indonesian automotive market in 2017. The car manufacturer from China continues to show its commitment in the country.

One of the initial steps was building a factory and supplier parts in Cikarang, West Java. The products created for the Indonesian market are already produced domestically.

In running its business in the country, Wuling Motors implements various communication strategies. This is to get a positive response from the public.

A consistent communication strategy has earned the manufacturer from China appreciation. Most recently, they received an award at the 6th Indonesia Public Relations Summit 2025.

The routine event is said to be an annual forum that brings together professionals in the field of Public Relations (PR) from various industrial sectors.

Held at the Auditorium of the Ministry of Tourism, this event serves as a place to exchange ideas, share experiences, and strengthen networks among PR practitioners in Indonesia.

On the same occasion, PT SGMW Motor Indonesia (Wuling) was awarded the PR Popular Companies Awards 2025. The appreciation was in the automotive industry category.

“This award certainly encourages us to continue creating and conveying the company's values more broadly and impactfully,” said Brian Gomgom, Brand Communication Senior Manager of Wuling Motors, in a press release quoted (09/08).

It was further stated that the appreciation given is tangible proof of Wuling's commitment to building sustainable communication. Both with the media and the public.

Not only that, Brian Gomgom also won the 50 PR Person Award 2025 title. The award is given to PR figures who excel in three main criteria.

Starting from existence in the public sphere, influence on the formation of public opinion, to creativity in implementing communication strategies.
