KatadataOTO – Jeep is officially marketed in Indonesia under PT Indomobil National Distributor. Not only targeting consumers, Jeep has also expressed interest in targeting government agencies in Indonesia.

Considering that related agencies generally require high-quality SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) cars with tough specifications.

“Indeed, one of the targeted markets is the government, which can see Jeep as an alternative,” said Tan Kim Piauw, CEO of PT Indomobil National Distributor in Jakarta, recently.

When asked about orders from related parties, he confirmed that the official launch of Jeep is scheduled for April 2025.

He hopes that when Jeep officially hits the road, there will be government parties interested in using Jeep as an operational vehicle.

“One of our targets is for Jeep not only to be for personal or community use. We hope this car will also be used by companies and the government,” he asserted.

The hope is that Jeep can meet the operational needs of these institutions, relying on Jeep's reputation for often being used as a military vehicle and for military needs.

For your information, this year Jeep is confirmed to be bringing in one new model, which is strongly suspected to be the 2025 Wrangler Rubicon.

Compared to the previous version, the 2025 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon gets additions to support owner comfort, namely a 12.3-inch infotainment system integrated with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

During the launch preparations, Jeep has been re-engaging with consumers and getting involved in community activities.

Then, dealerships in potential major cities are being prepared not only to serve sales needs but also for service and spare parts provision.

“Since the end of last year, we have announced that we are preparing four dealerships in Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, and Medan. They will be opened in stages soon,” said Ario Soerjo, COO of Jeep Indonesia, on the same occasion.

In Indonesia, competitors for Jeep have started to arrive from China. One of them is BAIC, which offers the BJ40 Plus, a gasoline-powered SUV with a design identical to the Jeep Rubicon at a competitive price.

Speaking of price, it is likely that Jeep's newest product will not be much different from the previous version, in the range of Rp 2.3 billion.
