The GIIAS 2025 automotive exhibition officially opened to the public today, enlivened by various vehicle brands.
KatadataOTO – The largest automotive exhibition in Indonesia, the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025, officially opened today, Thursday (24/07).
This event is expected to boost sales and revive the public's sluggish purchasing power.
Various new products are here to liven up GIIAS 2025. Some are also offered at competitive prices to attract potential customers.
“GIIAS 2024 has proven to make a real contribution to helping economic growth through the automotive industry. The achievements in 2024 can certainly be used as a foundation for this year's GIIAS,” said Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, in Tangerang, Thursday (24/07).
With dozens of participating brands, including Chinese ones, GIIAS 2025 is touted as the most comprehensive automotive exhibition in the world.
Gaikindo itself revealed that various manufacturers are participating in GIIAS 2025, ranging from Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean, to Chinese brands.
“We support the government in achieving net zero emissions by presenting environmentally friendly vehicles, electrification technology, and the development of new fuels,” said Yohannes Nangoi, Chairman of Gaikindo, on the same occasion.
Several brands are new participants at GIIAS 2025, namely Aletra, Denza, Geely, Jaecoo, Lepas, Polytron, and Xpeng.
Others are also taking advantage of the GIIAS 2025 momentum to launch their products for the first time, a.k.a. a World Premiere.
For example, the premiere launch of the Jetour T2 right-hand drive (RHD) version and the compact electric car X20e.
Other manufacturers like BYD are launching new products for consumers. The newest model from this Chinese automotive giant is the Atto 1, better known as the Seagull.
The BYD Atto 1 is a new challenger in the small electric car segment with a competitive price. Its lowest-end model is sold for around IDR 195 million on the road in Jakarta.
Japanese manufacturers also don't want to be left behind in electrification. The locally assembled Toyota bZ4X was officially launched at the GIIAS 2025 event.
They also brought a new model to Indonesia for the first time, the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV.
Interestingly, the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV is a twin of the Suzuki e Vitara, which is also present at GIIAS 2025.
If you are interested in visiting GIIAS 2025, tickets can be purchased online or directly at the exhibition venue at ICE BSD, Tangerang.
GIIAS 2025 ticket prices range from IDR 50 thousand to IDR 250 thousand, depending on the category and selected day.
