KatadataOTO – The automotive market in Indonesia has not yet shown positive signs towards the end of the year. As happened in September 2025.

Data from Gaikindo shows that last month, new car retail sales (from dealers to consumers) were only 63,723 units.

This number was corrected by up to 4.20 percent compared to the achievement in August 2025, which was at the level of 66,518 units.

Cumulatively, sales of new cars in the country from January to September 2025 have only reached 585,917 units.

The figure above is still far from the target set by Gaikindo. Because they want the four-wheeled vehicle market to finish at 850 thousand units.

Of course, this will be a difficult thing to achieve. Considering that 2025 has three months left to meet the above target.

Manufacturers must work very hard if they want new car sales to reach 850 thousand in December 2025.

Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) also believes that the target set by Gaikindo can be achieved by the end of the year.

“If we talk about the seasonal index from November to December, I think it's still possible,” said Dony Ismi Saputra, 4W Deputy Managing Director of SIS in East Jakarta some time ago.

According to Dony, from November to December, new car sales usually show an increase.

This is because many attractive programs are offered by manufacturers, encouraging people to spend their money.

“Provided the seasonal index is not disturbed. Because sales from November to December will definitely reach their peak,” Dony continued.

Furthermore, he assessed that the new four-wheeled vehicle market usually slows down or weakens from September to October.
