KatadataOTO – The scooter market was excited in January 2026. This came after Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM) gave a refresh to the MX King 150.
The Japanese brand added a special livery to the Yamaha MX King 150, similar to the 1999 YZF-R7 racing motorcycle.
On this Yamaha product's body, it is painted with a blend of red and white colors. Then there is the classic iron-horse graphic.
Elements like the speed block and the gold-colored fork logo represent Yamaha's strong identity.
Thus, the appearance of the Yamaha MX King 150 resembles the race bike of Fabio Quartararo when it debuted at the 2025 Dutch MotoGP.
It is an opportunity for consumers who intend to own an iconic two-wheeled vehicle, which could become a collectible item in the future.
It should be noted that the mechanical heart of the Yamaha MX King has not been updated. It still relies on a 149 cc, single-cylinder, SOHC, liquid-cooled engine.
The powerplant is claimed to deliver a maximum output of 15.1 hp at 8,500 rpm, with peak torque reaching 13.8 Nm at 7,000 rpm.
For information, the price offered by Yamaha is not too high, only around Rp 28.3 million for the DKI Jakarta area.
On the other hand, Yamaha also raised the price of their scooter. For example, the standard MX King variant became about Rp 28.1 million.
However, at the end of last year, the two-wheel vehicle was marketed to consumers at Rp 27.7 million.
Meanwhile, the price tag of the Yamaha Vega Force, originally Rp 18.8 million, has now been pulled up to Rp 19.8 million.
