This BYD Seal twin is offered in EV and PHEV variants, compatible with the latest fast charging system.
KatadataOTO – BYD (Build Your Dreams) has launched an innovative ultra-fast electric car charging system called 10C Megawatt. Recently, a model compatible with this system was officially launched.
The BYD Han L sedan comes in BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) and PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) variants. The Han L uses the Super e-Platform, which already supports 1000V high-voltage charging.
It is also equipped with a flash charging battery. When charged for five minutes, BYD claims the battery can support a journey equivalent to a distance of 400 km.
Meanwhile, if the battery is empty, the BYD Han L can be charged from zero to 100 percent in just 20 minutes.
This latest vehicle from BYD is equipped with the God’s Eye DiPilot 300 sensor. This system enables autopilot in various conditions such as on highways and during parking.
The array of sensors that the driver can utilize includes one LiDAR, a five-millimeter radius radar, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 12 cameras.
The EV variant is available in RWD (Rear Wheel Drive) and AWD (All Wheel Drive) options, while the PHEV type comes in FWD (Front Wheel Drive) and AWD.
The presence of the BYD Han L is attracting attention because it aims to address the concerns of prospective electric car users when charging their vehicles.
Considering that the charging time for electric cars is relatively longer compared to refueling conventional cars with gasoline.
Speaking of price, BYD offers a competitive price tag for its newest medium sedan. The lowest PHEV variant is priced at 209,800 Yuan (IDR 479.3 million), while the top EV type is 279,800 Yuan (IDR 639.3 million).
The model has only been launched in the Chinese market. It is not yet known if the sedan will be introduced to the global market in the future.
The BYD Han L EV RWD can produce 671 hp and a peak torque of 420 Nm. The offered driving range based on the CLTC testing method is 701 km.
The PHEV option uses a 1,500 cc Turbo engine. With a full battery and gas tank, the claimed comprehensive range is 1,400 km, while the EV Range is 180 km.
In Indonesia, BYD does not yet offer a PHEV. However, it has introduced an electric-powered sedan that has been quite successful, namely the Seal EV.
Debuting in Indonesia last year, throughout 2024 the Seal has been BYD's second best-selling model after the M6, contributing 4,829 units in wholesales.
BYD is interested in introducing a new electric car in the country this year, but the model is not yet clear. At the beginning of 2025, they released the Sealion 7 SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle).
