KatadataOTO – Honda will launch three new products to strengthen its position in Indonesia. Interestingly, the Japanese car manufacturer confirmed that these products will feature hybrid technology.

They also showed a silhouette of the cars to be launched. From the image, three different models for the Indonesian market can be seen.

“In 2025, there are still three other hybrid products that we will launch, and there have been many teasers as well,” said Yusak Billy, Sales & Marketing and After Sales Director of PT Honda Prospect Motor (21/03).

Of the three models, one is very similar to the Step WGN because its silhouette features a boxy design. Meanwhile, another model resembles an SUV and is believed to be the HR-V.

As for the last model, it has not yet been clearly identified. However, one of the three models will be produced locally.

“One of them will be locally produced, for which demand is high. Because to produce a vehicle ourselves, the economies of scale must be met for the price to be competitive,” he later added.

Not only that, the presence of this model will also pursue incentives for hybrid cars of 3 percent from the government. Thus, it is hoped that its price will be more affordable compared to the normal price tag.

However, obtaining the incentive is not easy. The company must meet several requirements set by the government.

“We must follow the requirements, including a commitment to invest around IDR 2 trillion within five years. Then, vehicle emissions must be below 100 grams per km, or 1 liter of gasoline for 25 km,” he added.

It was previously reported that the government has indeed provided incentives for hybrid vehicles in Indonesia. This step was taken to accelerate sales after experiencing pressure in 2024.

The results have been quite positive as the demand for hybrid cars has increased compared to before. Even some manufacturers that do not yet have a model in this segment are becoming interested in entering it.

Thus, it is hoped that the public will have more choices, increasing sales figures in the country.
