KatadataOTO – Suzuki is reportedly preparing the arrival of their new model, the Burgman 150

It's not an entirely new model; its 125 cc engine version was already introduced earlier in Indonesia under the name Suzuki Burgman 125EX.

Suzuki has not directly confirmed the launch plans for their newest big scooter.

However, if it arrives in the Southeast Asian market, the Suzuki Burgman 150 will become a new competitor for the Honda PCX 160 and Yamaha Nmax 155.

Leaked images of the Suzuki Burgman 150 have started to circulate. Quoted from Greatbiker, this new model is likely to use the Haojue UHR150 scooter base, a result of a collaboration with Suzuki's partner in China.

Looking at its design, the Suzuki Burgman 150 appears slightly more muscular with sharp lines across its body.

On the Suzuki Burgman 125EX, the headlight appears large. Meanwhile, on the newest variant, the Burgman 150's headlight design is sharper and briefly reminiscent of the Yamaha Nmax 155.

The distinctly sporty design is supported by an LED lighting sector, a start-stop button, ABS brakes, and a full digital display.

In terms of the powertrain, the Suzuki Burgman 150 is predicted to use a 149 cc single-cylinder SOHC engine.

The power output is 14.4 hp at 8,500 rpm with a peak torque of 14.2 Nm at 6,500 rpm.

Suzuki is also said to have optimized the Burgman 150 for better fuel efficiency, making it suitable for both urban use and long-distance travel.

Thailand and Indonesia are markets where the Yamaha Nmax 155 and Honda PCX 160 are in high demand among consumers.

Therefore, if the Suzuki Burgman 150 debuts in these two countries, the competition will certainly be tight.

For context, the Yamaha Nmax 155 is offered starting from Rp 36.3 million. Meanwhile, the lowest Honda PCX 160 CBC type is priced at Rp 34.3 million, all on-the-road Jakarta.

Meanwhile, the Suzuki Burgman 125EX is currently sold domestically for Rp 26.5 million.

The price tag for the Suzuki Burgman 150 needs to be in a similar range to be competitive and attractive to local consumers looking to buy a big scooter.
