KatadataOTO – Polytron asserts that they have ensured the products they sell are of good quality. However, some vehicles still experience damage, especially to the battery.

As a result, customers have to make repairs so the motorcycle can operate again. Nevertheless, Ilman Fachrian, Head of Group Product EV 2W, revealed that the number is relatively small.

“Battery damage has indeed occurred, but the number is small, less than 2 percent of the total products. Since it's still under warranty, it has been repaired,” he told the media some time ago.

Unfortunately, he did not explain in detail the cause of the battery damage.

“The cause is still under investigation, but we do not rule out the possibility of it being due to the use of portable fast charging. These products are usually purchased from the aftermarket, which can damage the battery,” he then added.

Although it makes it easier for customers, these products do have the potential to damage the battery. This is because the incoming electrical current is larger than it should be.

“But as long as it is still within the warranty period, we will continue to cover the damage for now,” he then added.

Launching Their Own Portable Fast Charging

This situation has prompted Polytron to take the initiative to develop its own portable fast charging. By developing it themselves, it is hoped that the charging can be adjusted to meet specific needs.

“It is unknown what type of battery the portable fast chargers on the market are developed for. Whereas if we launch our own, everything will be tailored for Polytron products,” he asserted.

During development, the portable fast charger they plan to launch has been made relatively safe. Therefore, it is hoped that the battery life can remain long.

“But we will still communicate the impact of using portable fast charging. Even though the product offered will be relatively safe,” he asserted.

Although not explained in detail, the device can fully charge the battery in two hours. This is much faster compared to standard charging, which takes 4 hours.

Thus, customers traveling long distances can be more confident. This is because charging becomes more optimal and does not waste too much time.
