KatadataOTO – Polytron admits that the price of electric motorcycles they sell in Central Java tends to be cheaper than in other regions. This is because their factory is located in that area, resulting in lower shipping costs.
However, their sales are still higher in the Jabodetabek area. This is because the character of the community is different.
“Early adopters are mostly in big cities because they receive more information. So they quickly realize that electric motorcycles are more efficient than conventional ones,” said Ilman Fachrian Fadli, Head of Product 2W at Polytron EV some time ago.
Not only that, urban communities, especially in Jakarta, experience heavy traffic congestion, making fuel consumption a greater concern compared to residents in Central Java.
“Jakarta has a lot of traffic, so it will be more efficient not to use gasoline. So the answer is an electric motorcycle,” he added.
Nevertheless, he revealed that they will continue to educate the public, especially the residents of Central Java. By doing so, it is hoped that the advantages of electric motorcycles, especially those they offer, can be better known.
“We will continue to hold exhibitions so that the public becomes more familiar with electric motorcycles. Thus, it is hoped that their development can be more optimal,” he added.
It should be noted that Polytron currently offers three electric motorcycles: the Fox 350, Fox 500, and Fox 200. Each has different advantages.
However, the newest model is the Fox 350, which is claimed to be a development of the Fox R. The development focuses on design.
The most noticeable change is on the motorcycle's deck. Polytron Fox 350 has a more spacious deck that adjusts to the rider's posture.
The ergonomic design, named Comfy Deck, is also balanced with other riding comfort features such as Regenerative Braking, Hill Start Assist, and connectivity to smart gadgets via the Polytron EV application.
The Polytron Fox 350 is equipped with a 3,000-watt electric motor that allows it to reach speeds of up to 95 km/h. Its range reaches 130 km on a single full charge.
Hill Start Assist is also available to provide safety for riders when the motorcycle stops on an incline. The feature will activate when the brake is pressed for about three seconds.
