KatadataOTO – Kicking off 2026, Motul is once again making a splash in the world of motorsport. This time, they are collaborating with McLaren Endurance Racing in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).

The partnership itself is an extension of Motul's collaboration with McLaren. Previously, the two parties had allied in the Formula 1 (F1) championship.

It is hoped that Motul's latest move can strengthen the brand's reputation in the world of top-tier motorsport.

Motul becomes the official partner of the McLaren Endurance Racing team and provides superior lubricants. For the engine, transmission, and differential.

“We translate the technology tested in these extreme conditions into our products. In providing optimal engine protection, stable performance, and longer durability—according to needs,” said Welmart Purba, Managing Director, PT Motul Indonesia Energy in a press release (27/01).

Motul will be involved in the McLaren United Autosports Hypercar program and will compete in the FIA WEC. Then, both are also preparing for a debut in 2027.

The collaboration between the two brands is said to be more than just involvement in the racing world. However, Motul believes that its DNA can deliver performance, durability, and long-term reliability.

The values above are claimed to be the foundation of Motul's products for the global market, including Indonesia.

Motul itself is said to have experience in various endurance races including the FIA WEC and Le Mans.

This experience is believed to be used for developing their oil technology in the domestic market.

As a lubricant manufacturer, Motul has a complete product line. Ranging from two-wheeled vehicles, a.k.a. motorcycles, four-wheelers, to additives with world-class standards.

Motul's product formulas are developed through intensive research and testing. Ensuring viscosity stability, maximum protection against friction, and consistent engine efficiency.

Armed with the knowledge of creating quality products, Motul brings this technology to develop oil for daily vehicles.

Specifically in the domestic market, Motul continues to present lubricant innovations that are relevant, reliable, and in accordance with the standards of modern vehicles in Indonesia.

“The partnership with McLaren Endurance Racing further confirms that Motul is a brand that is trusted at the highest level of motorsport,” Welmart then said.

The trust from various parties globally is said to have a positive impact on domestic consumers.
